December And Your Business

December is supposed to be a time of relaxation, reflection and family. That’s how I generally see it portrayed. While at the same time, we’re being encouraged to get out there and buy extravagant gifts for the ones we love, donate extra time and/or money to worthy causes, host parties for friends and family and still stay on top of work and other commitments already in place.

I don’t know about you, but sometimes December can wear me out!

So, some days all I really want to do is get a little extra sleep or curl up on the couch with a cup of something warm, light a fire and read a good book. Full confession, I have done the extra sleep thing (don’t forget to take care of yourself!).

However, there are still things to do in, on and for my business. Priorities might change in December (or at other times) and that’s okay.  If you want December to have another focus than your business, that’s fine! Do it with intention though.

To help you focus, whether you’re going full throttle in December or not, what are the one or two things that you most want to complete this week? The things that if nothing else is accomplished, will make you feel like progress was made?

  1. This week I am connecting with all my current leaders to talk about their goals for next year. I also plan on calling all my customers with a follow up call about their current orders and seek to educate them on ways they can save money on their next order. I am currently in the process of interviewing some of my customers about their Shaklee experience and in addition learn more about their business. I am using these interviews for blog content. I have a couple more appointments to set this week for that but plan to reach out to a few more for the new year.

  2. My goal this week is to complete my QuickBooks accounting data input and necessary corrections. I want to be ready for the tax account in January this year and not on 4/15/2014. Wish me luck.

  3. I’m with Rich Brown. I need to update my expenses for the past few months. (But first priority is always work for paying clients).
