It’s the first full week of June.
Kids are out of school for the summer or counting the days left on one hand.
And it’s the season of vacations.
What do you have planned for your summer?
And what are your plans for your business while you’re away having fun?
Will you be working on your business while on vacation? Or be able to step fully away?
Which one do you want?
For this week’s Wednesday LIVE with Evie let’s talk about preparing your business for your vacation.
The above is what I wrote yesterday for this article.
It’s a bit shorter than usual, isn’t it?
I had a headache for most of yesterday and spent a couple hours in bed trying to sleep it off. It didn’t solve it, but it wasn’t as bad.
So, late yesterday afternoon I wanted to just go and veg out on the couch, and I also wanted to announce what the topic was for this week’s Wednesday LIVE with Evie (the above was sent out in an email).
And today, I’m thinking about this coming Monday.
My husband has an appointment that will take him out of the house for the entire afternoon. It’s mostly a lot of driving and then a short appointment.
He’s suggested that I go too and spend the afternoon with him. Part of me wants to go, and another part has been thinking “but there are THINGS that need to be DONE”.
I find this inner dialog of mine amusing.
Do you know why?
Because I basically took yesterday afternoon off to nap and do nothing because I had a headache. But to PLAN to take the afternoon off?! How will I get my Monday things done if I’m not in my office on Monday?!
So, if something unexpected happens (like a headache), I’ll take the time I need off and figure out the details later.
But if it’s expected but with no set purpose (like an afternoon off to spend in the car with my husband), well, that’s almost not doable!
Do you relate to this?
Do you figure out how to work the unexpected absence into your business schedule, but are reluctant to take a day off, let alone for a week?
The topic of tomorrow’s Wednesday LIVE with Evie (at 1pm CDT) is Vacation and Your Business.
We’ll talk about:

- What to do (or not to do) while on vacation
- Smooth re-entry to business after vacation
